Calhoun County provides demand-response public transportation to nearly the entire county. Riders call ahead to set up an appointment, and curb-to-curb service is provided directly from the home. Service is available to those living outside the city limits of Anniston, Oxford, Hobson City, Weaver, Jacksonville, and Piedmont, which are considered urban areas. The county also supports transportation for seniors through its senior centers.

Central

NACOLG Transit operates Dial-a-Ride service across the Shoals Area, including Florence, Muscle Shoals, Tuscumbia, Sheffield, Russellville, Hamilton, and Haleyville, plus surrounding rural counties. Riders book trips in advance for curb-to-curb service within 10 miles of city limits. In addition to serving the public, NACOLG contracts with organizations such as the Area Agency on Aging and local nonprofits to provide accessible, dependable transportation.

North

WTA serves Dothan, Houston County, Dale County, and the City of Enterprise with a fleet of ADA-compliant vehicles. Riders can depend on affordable, accessible, and safe service for daily needs, medical appointments, and community connections. As a nonprofit provider, WTA is dedicated to making transit reliable for individuals, families, and organizations throughout the Wiregrass region.

South

LRPT provides curb-to-curb service across Lee and Russell Counties. Drivers assist passengers into vehicles from the curb and can accommodate special needs if riders let them know when scheduling. LRPT cannot enter homes or buildings, but riders can request appropriate buses or equipment to ensure a comfortable trip. This makes the service flexible and accessible for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and anyone without other transportation options.

NARCOG provides rural public transit across Cullman, Lawrence, and Morgan counties through a demand-response service. Riders schedule trips in advance for curb-to-curb service within their community. NARCOG also works closely with local officials and the Alabama Department of Transportation to keep rural transit accessible, affordable, and coordinated with regional planning. Services are designed to connect residents in smaller communities to jobs, medical care, and essential services.

North

PEX operates both fixed-route and ADA-compliant paratransit services within Phenix City, with routes extending into Columbus, GA, to connect with the METRA bus system. Riders can use designated stops or schedule paratransit trips within a ¾-mile radius of the fixed routes. PEX offers complementary northside and southside routes in addition to paratransit, making it easier for residents to connect to work, shopping, and regional destinations.
